Description
PARAPLEX P2 is a deposit inhibitor designed to control a wide range of contaminants typically
found in steam boiler water systems. This product contains oxygen scavenger components for
pitting corrosion protection and curbs formation of calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, calcium
phosphate, calcium silicate, and metallic oxides. PARAPLEX P2 controls scale deposits and
sludge that are produced during the steam-generating operation. The scale will adsorb to the
product, distorting crystal growth before they disperse. Control of metallic oxides is
accomplished by particular sequestrations and dispersion.
Directions
The dosage depends on the system being treated, water composition, and extent of water
fouling. The recommended treatment levels for PARAPLEX P2 is 35–75 parts per million (ppm).
Feeding and Control
The recommended feeding method is a continuous aqueous solution to the pre-boiler section or
directly to the boiler feedwater inlet. Feeding equipment should be plastic or S/S construction.
Due to the non-sludge forming characteristics, PARAPLEX P2 can be fed into conventional
condensate return/feedwater tanks. The product will not foul up feedwater pump impellers.
Storage and Handling
Avoid contact with skin or eyes. In case of contact, flush skin or eyes with copious amounts of
water. For eye contact, seek medical attention. Do not take internally.
PARAPLEX P2 has excellent freeze-thaw stability; however, it is best to avoid freezing.
Packaging
PARAPLEX P2 is available in 4×1-gallon cases, 5-, 15-, and 55-gallon containers.
